| Canvas Transfers
Canvas transfers have been recognized over the past decade as an elegant alternative to glass framed lithograph images. Canvas transfers give the look and texture of an original oil painting to paper art by simply transferring color onto an artist canvas. A canvas transfer can be made from any print or poster. We currently offer 3 types of canvas transfers: The 'Basic' canvas transfer, the 'Brushstroke' and the 'Age and Crack'. Please allow 3-4 weeks for your canvas transfer to be shipped.

Process For Creating A Canvas Transfer

- First, the print is coated, via spray or brush with a special acrylic that seizes the ink. After drying the resulting ink film is embedded into a high quality artist's canvas. Rigid standards and meticulous attention to detail maximize ink retention, paper removal, and bonding.

 - At this point, the picture has an image true to the original painting with a lustrous oil sheen and rich canvas texture. This is known as a basic transfer.
If desired, a reproduction can be enhanced with one of two optional surface treatments.
|
|

 |
Option 1: Brushstrokes - The most popular, whereby artists hand apply clear acrylic in the pattern of the original piece. This adds texture and realism to the canvas transfer, and is particularly effective for images of paintings in styles using heavy coats of paint, such as impressionism or many modern abstracts. The result is artwork that captures the very soul of the original painting.

Option 2: Age & Crack - Used for truly old pieces, such as great works from the Renaissance, may be of interest. With this technique, special chemicals are applied to create cracks on the picture surface. Specially selected pigments are then added to highlight those cracks, resulting in an authentically antique appearance.
