Biography:
Asoma was born in Japan in 1923 and received his education at several institutions including the Saitama Teachers College in Urawa, the Bijitsu Gakko in Tokyo, the Grand Chaurniere in Paris and the Art Students League in New York. In 1961 he exhibited in California and New York, his first exhhibition in the United States. His interest in contemporary American art prompted him to settle permanently in the United States. Asoma's sensitively reveals the change of seasons through the use of bold, brilliant colors and the lightly feathered texture of his landscapes. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Switzerland and Germany. His paintings are part of numerous museum collections and the corporate collections of the Marriott, IBM and American Express. |
