Neo-Classicism
as a style may be referred to interchangeably with Classicism. However, it specifically refers to art and architecture of the period ca. 1770 to ca. 1830 when, under the stimulus of the renewed enthusiasm for classical civilization, artist rejected the highly ornate rococo style and turned to subjects and motifs from classical antiquity. The style is characterized by clarity, balance and restraint. Used generally, neo-classicism can mean any manifestation of a return to classical sources. Some examples of work in this style include Jacques Lamay's Classic Estate Urn, Royal Tresure II by Vlas.
