At the close of the 19th Century, Jules Cheret ????????, known as the father of the poster and those that followed, created stone lithographs rich in color, spectacular in design and monumental in scale for advertising everything from soap to traveling the four corners of the world. Although the category describes poster art in particular we have broadened the parameters to include images that fit the genre in style and subject matter. Key Images include Coca-Cola,Have a Coke, Cinzano 1920 by Cappiello, Grafofoni Columbia 1920, Le Tour du Cap Corse by Roger Broders, Wall Box II by T.R. Coletta.
